The activity will continue in the period connected with the collection of data, i.e. in the period from June to December 2016 and will work with the results of field surveys performed within activities 1.2.1 and 1.2.2. Analytical and synthetic works will be conducted in forest protection, i.e. the evaluation of bark beetle effects on the health condition of forest ecosystems and particularly the modelling of the potential threats by influential biotic factors. In addition to field studies, digital records from remote sensing will be used to create zones infested by bark beetles (incidence of bark beetle foci, woody species composition) as a supportive method. Processes of deforestation and similar changes in the forest ecosystems as well as the current health condition of forests.
The acquired data will be further processed by using expedient GIS (geographic information systems) tools. Based on the confrontation of gained outputs with data from the field monitoring, zones will be defined susceptible to the infestation by under-bark insects and principles of differentiated management will be set up for the respective zones with using the results from the previous activities (dominant species, population density, most effective trapping devices and pheromone evaporator).
