The activity will continue from June to December 2016 following the collection of data. Based on the obtained field data, linkage with Output 1.3 (forest functions), the volume of timber will be determined with respect to the outputs of forest functions (basic documents) and Outputs 1.2 (forest protection) where limits are presumed to be set for timber felling and usability.
The volume of planned felling will be determined through analysis. In order to obtain an outline of planned felling, data will be analysed for the last ten years; at this, all documents governing timber harvesting in the concerned area (management plans, land use development, transport etc.) will be taken into account. In a preliminary estimate, timber will be by a simple way graded into fuel wood, construction wood and other assortments (e.g. poles for fencing, scaffolding etc.).
The location and quantification of logging operations in the individual partial areas (relative closeness to villages) for the specific period of the validity of prepared forest management plan will be chosen with respect to accessibility of forests according to USFD, especially to prevent disturbed integrity and continuity of forest ecosystems, fulfilment of their ecologic-stabilization functions and their biological diversity. Concurrently, appointed persons will be trained not only in how to mark timber for cutting but also in timber quantification and grading. All this with respect to accessibility of forest stands, their regeneration etc. Considered will be also the processing of timber from incidental felling and natural disasters. Linkage to Output 1.4 (increase of awareness).
